To feel belonging with nature is the foundation for organic Stewardship of our ecosystems. In the IUCN CEM network, the values of this belongingness are practised through scientific conservation, ecosystem research, professional engagements, policy Advocacy, and community development.
Our logo with human hands holding the biosphere with care depicts our stand for humanity as one with nature – from Mountains, Forests, Rivers, to Seas – from deserts to grasslands to Deltas, from conifers to mangroves, from mega faunas to microbiome, from terrestrial to marine. Natural ecosystems are spread beyond manmade boundaries harnessing us – our food, our culture, our health, livelihood, well-being, and communities in turn must develop consciousness to take care of these precious ecosystems.
In Harnessing Nature, our magazine for IUCN CEM we highlight our revisiting this intricate relationship with nature and through our actions, advocacy, and initiatives – create networks and share knowledge for collaborative sustainable development and co-create opportunities for influencing national and international level policies for a better world.
