By IUCN CEM SA on 14 October 2019.
Every year, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) hosts the prestigious “Green Talents – International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development” to promote the international exchange of innovative green ideas.

We are extremely proud that this year one of the awardees of Green Talents is Dr Sheikh Adil Edrisi, an active member of IUCN CEM community. Dr Adil’s research is focusing on the use of marginal and degraded lands. He is exploring the possibilities to use it for the production of bioenergy and to regain its various ecosystem services at the same time. With his research he aims to support multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals. He had his PhD in Environmental Science and Sustainable Development from Banaras Hindu University under the guidance of Dr P. C. Abilash, who is also the group leader of IUCN CEM Agro-ecosystems Specialist Group.
We congratulate Dr Adil and his mentor Dr Abilash for this recognition to their work.
